I loved this book and am surprised it wasn’t well received by some. It is so raw, romantic and hopeful. It is a great view into love and grief. Thoroughly loved it and would definitely recommend.

Terrible book. Nothing happened.

I really loved this book. The characters seem real and likable, their flaws or quirks felt more truly lifelike unlike some romances that seem very formulaic.

I listened to the audiobook & it was absolute perfection! The way the book alternates before and after Ben's death makes it almost two novels - the love story of Elsie & Ben, and the relationship founded in grief between Elsie & Susan.…

I loved this book, but I was sick when I read it and the mix of illness, and reading this book put me in a depressive state, I felt broken. Once the book was done, and I was feeling better it went away!

Jenkins Reid has a way of making you feel what the characters are feeling, and really bring out that empathy. In this book, we grieve with Elsie as she navigates the loss of her new husband (whom she's only known for 6 months). One thing…

TJR's debut is a heartbreakingly beautiful story. I loved the characters and seeing how Ben and Elsie's relationship developed through flashbacks, that were triggered by something that was happening on the present timeline.

Loved this book! There was one point I was sure it was headed in a direction I was very disappointed in because it was so trite and typical but then it did a U-turn and didn't go where I expected. Yay! I can't thank the author enough for…

I cried through this book. While I didn't find it as intense as The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, I found a different connection with this book. This book deals with a woman who is recently married, her husband goes out to buy her Fruity…

I did it a little backwards, but I have now read every book published by Taylor Jenkins Reid. While I have already been calling her a favorite author, it is now official. Like every other book by this author, I felt every single…

This is a raw, emotional story about a young woman coming to terms with the unexpected death of her husband. Elsie and Ben have a whirlwind romance and elope after just six months together. When Ben dies unexpectedly, just days after they…

In case you were wondering, the back of the book tells us her husband dies but what made me cry was that he dies in the first chapter, not even 10 pages in. The flashbacks made me forget that he was dead. It was touching.

Written with such sincerity and raw honesty. It was so sad but also very touching. I didn't love everything about it, but I couldn't put it down and it impacted me deeply.

An intriquing, if non-linear, romance: Husband dies nine days after the wedding. The courtship is shown via flashback, and the narrator is shown dealing with the aftermath of the husband's death--and making friends with a relunctant…
