Average movie. More like video game theme. Gerard Butler is a good actor, but somehow he dissapointed in this movie. Could be good for one time view.

The action scenes in this movie are quite good, as are the special effects, but the story is highly predictable and improbable. Very average.

Similar to the TV series Nikita, this movie is like an update on 21st century urban life. It's slightly romanticized realism keeps it both serious and entertaining. A good thriller plot makes the suspense element very skilfully orchestrated. The subject and location required accuracy and effort in so many fields must have resulted in an enormous amount of expertise; accordingly, the credits seem endlessly long.

Never trust the British. Ponder this. I’m hip to them. After all, they did excel at exploitation (capitalism) and have had plenty of time to consider their decline. They’re smarter than the US and finally catching on to digital tech, along with their minions in EU. They are all over the movie industry. -— A top-drawer script done pretty well, for what it is: Die Hard, working-man’s, I mean, Tea-Party, sensibility where ONE MAN knows. Our government can’t be trusted. “I was right all along, I just need a chance to show it.” “I’m sooo mad I could...” -— Topical gooks employed. American flag desecrated. All in charge stupid (except, inexplicably, a Black man, Morgan Freeman—don’t know what that’s all about!). AND A BRIT, THE INDOMINABLE HERO, redeeming himself (for loss of empire?). -— Make no mistake about it; the British are came!

Standard blockbuster. Usual storyline. I guess movies in the action thriller genre must keep constantly moving. There's really no time for character development or drama. It's a rare action film that has a jolting twist that shocks an audience.

Noise and blood.

And does anyone seriously still believe that the president is the only one in power? Or that we don't negotiate with terrorists?! You could buy into the ideas this movie presents maybe 10/15 years ago but not in 2014. Laughable in that it was very believable that someone could take over the White House that easy and quick.

I thought this movie was more realistic than White House Down. Loaded with profanity otherwise I may have given it one more star.

"Air Force One" on the ground. Lots of shooting and blowing things up.

The pace of this movie left me breathless with one action scene after another. Gerard Butler as the film's central heroic character holds his own with other cinematic good guys as the one who has to infiltate the White House and save the President played wonderfully by Aaron Eckhart from the terrorists holding him hostage. White House Down which was released later boasts a more familiar cast, however give this one a watch before you see it and draw your own comparisons. Personally I liked this one. Morgan Freeman gives another of his excellent performances.

We enjoyed the movie! Yes a bit far fetched but lots of action. I guess those that panned this movie didn't like Die Hard either...but we did!!
