Love the "new" Inspector Barnaby. Yes, he's a bit more low key than our previous Inspector, but he's very good. I like the moments of family life with his wife and dog. Like his "second" and how well they work together.

Give it time, you'll learn to love them too,

Midsomer Murders just keeps getting better.
Neil Dudgeon as Detective Chief Inspector John Barnaby is a refreshing addition and his partnership with Jason Hughes as Detective Constable Ben Jones works extremely well. We now see Detective Constable Ben Jones being gently nudged to become a full participant in the solving of the crime and it is fun to see him rise to the occasion.

new barnaby so disappointing -- like a shadow in a parallel universe with a dog thrown in. too bland - no defining characteristics of any kind (so as not tooffend?).
