has humorous scenes, cinematography is excellent, interesting enough to watch w/o pausing but script is not all that original.

Disc 3 2303 00333 8175 stops playing around scene 10. Disc 3 2303 00334 5733 plays movie in its entirety. Gotta love that American Hustle because isn't that how the game is played?

GREAT CHOICES FOR 70'S BACK GROUND MUSIC. I AM OLD ENOUGH TO REMEMBER THIS STORY IN THE NEWS. REMINDS US OF THE CORRUPTION WITH CASINOS AND POLITICIANS. A SURPRISING TWIST AT THE END.
BRADLEY COOPER'S CHARACTER (FBI) WAS A NUT CASE .2 1/2 HOURS TOO LONG.

Great cast, great acting. Christian Bale kills it, as usual. Nice jobs by Jeremy Remmer and Robert DeNiro, in a cameo. Entertaining "Sting" kind of movie based upon actual events (although not on the actual story). Although clever, I felt the ending was punchless. Maybe my expectations were too high.

Took me watching this 2 or 3 times before I caught everything, but I still enjoyed it. Great cast and well written, the movie had more to it then I expected. You get to see 2 sides to a coin if you will, the con artist and the "good guys", but also how the roles can be reversed and all the things that happen that people know but never mention or speak of, from both sides.

Loved the cast. It got SO many awards that I thought I'd love the movie and story, too. Well, I didn't so it only gets 2 stars from me...

I think this movie could have been at least half an hour shorter - at almost 2 1/2 hours, it dragged a little. The 70s setting and costumes were fun, but the storyline was pretty thin and kind of confusing. I can't really see why something so mundane was nominated for so many Oscars.

Pretty good storyline with a twist at the end. If you grew up in the early 70s, you'll appreciate the wardrobe and hair style. Worth watching.

Irving Rosenfeld: ... You can fool yourself for just so long, that your next reinvention you better have your damn feet on the ground ... The art of survival, is a story that never ends ... Irving Rosenfeld: Did you ever have to find a way to survive and you knew your choices were bad, *but* you had to survive?

Paco Hernandez: Yeah, I think the name of this operation is offensive. This whole thing is racist. What, ABSCAM? "Arab-scam"? It's racist! --- Irving Rosenfeld: When you are offered a favor or money, take the favor, not the money. Jesus said that, didn't he? ---- Sydney Prosser: [reluctantly realizing his angle] Everybody at the bottom crosses paths eventually in a pool of desperation and you're waiting for them...---Irving Rosenfeld: How about "we"?
