One Book • One County: Book Club - George by Alex Gino

6:30 PM – 7:30 PM

San Mateo County Libraries is proud to participate in One Book • One County with the Office of Education and other area libraries! Join your community for a library-led book discussion about George, the unforgettable debut from Stonewall Award winner Alex Gino. When people look at George, they think they see a ten-year-old boy. But she knows she’s not a boy. She knows she’s a girl. So what happens when her teacher won’t let her play Charlotte in the fourth grade’s dramatization of Charlotte’s Web?

You are welcome to attend the book club whether or not you’ve read the book. Enjoy an online copy or request a hold to pick up a paper copy at one of our curbside libraries.

We also, strongly encourage you to meet this Bay Area author, Alex Gino, in an online event on October 19th at 4:30 PM.

All participants must adhere to the SMCL Behavior Policies, including but not limited to refraining from disruptive behaviors and harassment of any kind. If you are under 13 years old, please ensure your adult signs you up for the book discussion and is with you when you participate.
