Have you always wanted to try an art class but didn’t think you were creative? Here is your chance to put your fears aside and get into your creative zone. This 12-session art workshop from Laura McHugh will provide a low-pressure, easy-going environment that will introduce you to different art mediums and materials. According to Laura, “Time and time again in art workshops I’ve taught in the past 10 years, people who didn’t think they were creative find a small entry point to putting pen or brush to paper and discover they ARE creative. The fear subsides and they are off to the races!”
Lessons will be primary in 2D visual art, but will also include small book making, printing techniques, and works on paper and small canvases. Participants will also be encouraged to participate in a gallery show at the end of the workshop cycle.
The classes will be held at the Half Moon Bay Library’s Makerspace on alternating Thursday each month from 6:00-7:30PM. The first class starts on July 20. There is no fee to take part in the classes and all materials will be supplied. Space is limited and interested participants should commit to attending all or most workshops. Each workshop will build off the instruction of previous classes.
