Mental Health First Aid Training

12:00 PM – 3:00 PM
Belmont

Description

Most of us would know how to help if we saw someone having a heart attack—we’d start CPR, or at the very least, call 9-1-1. Would you know how to respond if you saw someone having a panic attack or if you were concerned that a friend or co-worker might be showing signs of substance misuse?

Mental Health First Aid takes the fear and hesitation out of starting conversations about mental health and substance use problems by improving understanding and providing an action plan that teaches people to safely and responsibly identify and address a potential mental illness or substance use disorder.

This eight-hour training will teach you the Mental Health First Aid Action Plan. Participants will work through multiple scenarios to help someone in distress. At the end of the course, you'll be Mental Health First Aid certified, and have the tools and language you need to support community members and loved ones through challenging times. You will also be prepared to connect with local and national resources and support networks.

Join us to learn more about common mental health challenges and equip yourself with tools to uplift our community.

Registration is required. You must attend both sessions in order to become certified at the end of the course.
