On Sunday, February 25 at 2:00 PM, San Mateo County Libraries is delighted to welcome local author Nina Simon, author of the New York Times-bestselling Mother-Daughter Murder Night.
Mother-Daughter Murder Night is a warm-hearted whodunnit was a Reese's Book Club pick, an IndieNext pick, and a Barnes & Noble best of 2023 pick.
Mother-Daughter Murder Night is Nina’s first novel. She wrote it as a love letter to her mother, as a way to entertain, comfort, and connect with her during a major health crisis. Born and raised in Los Angeles, Nina now lives off-the-grid in the Santa Cruz Mountains with her family.
Nina will be in conversation with D. M. Rowell (Koyh Mi O Boy Dah), who comes from a long line of Kiowa storytellers within a Plains Indian culture that treasures oral traditions. Rowell is the author of the Mud Sawpole mysteries featuring a Silicon Valley professional Kiowa woman solving thefts and murders in Kiowa country. The first in the series, Never Name the Dead was a 2023 Finalist for the Simon & Schuster Mary Higgins Clark Award.
