As part of our Black History Month programming, we are celebrating the lives and achievements of local members of our Black and African-American communities; additionally, our panelists will share their success stories and personal experiences with bias/discrimination and adversity. In essence, panelists will talk about what it means to be Black in San Mateo County and the Bay Area as a whole. Our panelists will include Lakiba Pittman, Artist and Lecturer in the Menlo College Department of Arts & Sciences, Anthony Thomas, Manager of Community Services at the Peninsula Conflict Resolution Center, and Khalid White, CEO and Owner of Blkmpwr (Black Empower), LLC.
Each of our panelists is active in local organizations and non-profits that seek to provide resources for our local communities and fight for racial and social justice. They will share the mission of their organizations and the valuable resources they provide to our communities.
This conversation will be conducted via Zoom, and registered users will be emailed a link one week before the event.
