Join San Mateo County Libraries and the Hu Art Foundation for a painting demonstration with Master Hu and Master Shang. The session will start with 20-minute educational talk followed by two painting demonstrations. Master Hu will perform a 30-minute demonstration on Western watercolor painting, and Master Shang will do a live Chinese painting of peonies and chicks. Attendees will also have the opportunity to take turns on painting alongside the masters during the session.
Shangzhu is a renowned bird-and-flower painter. He has authored over 50 instructional painting books distributed nationwide. Shangzhu has participated in numerous national exhibitions of master artists and has received multiple awards. He was a member of Zhejiang’s art and calligraphy delegation for cultural exchange and friendly visits, traveling to Japan, the United States, and the regions of Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau. Zhejiang Television has produced and aired documentaries such as "Renowned Bird-and-Flower Painter Shangzhu" and "Analysis of Shangzhu’s Masterpieces."
Master Hu is a greatly accomplished artist from China and has been teaching drawing and painting for more than 30 years. He is a researcher at the Chinese International Institute of Art (中國國際書畫藝術研究院), lecturer at the International Commercial Artist Association (國際商業美術設計師協會 LCAD), and Jiangsu Province Senior Artists and Designer (江蘇省高級工藝美術師).
