Ikebana is the art of Japanese flower arrangement using branches, flowers and leaves to create elegant arrangements emphasizing artistic lines, colors and mass. Through a captivating demonstration and hands-on teaching session, including a personal critique and enhancement, participants will learn the principles and techniques of this traditional Japanese floral arrangement. Delve into the essence of harmony and balance as you create your own Ikebana masterpiece, guided by Gloria Lee, and leave with a deeper appreciation for the beauty of nature and the art of floral design. All levels of experience are welcome.
Gloria Lee has been teaching and demonstrating ikebana in the Bay Area since 2007. She has showcased her arrangements in many flower shows in cities throughout the area including Bouquets to Art at the San Francisco De Young Museum.
In-person registration begins at the Millbrae Library on Wednesday, April 22 at 10:00 AM. Due to a limited number of spots, each patron may only register themselves.
Online registration begins Wednesday, April 29 at 1:30 PM.
