Join local author Maggie Tokuda-Hall as she shares her picture book, Love in the Library. Families are invited to experience this story based on the author's Japanese American grandparents’ experience of finding hope and love while incarcerated in a prison camp. It is a sensitive introduction to the topic for children. This talk is part of the One Book, One Coast shared community reading event.
Maggie Tokuda-Hall is also the author of Also An Octopus, illustrated by Benji Davies, The Mermaid, the Witch, and the Sea, and Squad, with more books forthcoming.
She lives in Oakland, California, with her husband, son, and objectively perfect dog. She has a BA in Studio Art from Scripps College and an MFA in Writing from the University of San Francisco.
