In fact three 90-minutes TV films featuring Iain Glen (The tough Dragon Queen's most trusted warrior Jorah Mormont in "Game of Thrones") a ruggedly handsome, amiable yet damaged Irish private investigator who was once…

What a miserable character. What a failing creation. What a waste of Iain's talent. ln the second story, what did lain want to achieve by suddenly showing up at the party, himself wounded and threating and trying to bring back his ex-girl…

Ian Glen, unknown to most of us here in North America stars in this drama, part detective part police drama, set in contemporary Ireland. But this Ireland is not the one of soft mist, rainbows and Lucky Charms. This is as gritty a place as…

I really liked the depth of history of Jack Taylor's life that are provided. Good mysteries. I am looking forward to more episodes. Kristi & Abby Tabby

This series had potential but certainly did not live up to it.
I watched the first episode, which was good enough to get me to try another. Couldn't make it through that one. Nothing but violence, drinking, and a main character that keeps…

This is not your idealistic, admirable sleuth. Quite the contrary. But he is diligent, intuitive and relentless. Murder and mystery shrouded in darkness and an alcoholic haze. Iain Glen leads a good cast with good performances. The…

Rated 6/10. Better than average, but could have been much better. There was too much focus on the main character's habit of drinking alcohol, which got boringly predictable after a while.
Overall, the three episodes were okay. The last…

I found the first of three episodes to be depressing as all-get-out. There was not one uplifting moment. Plus it is raining outside today and I got a leak in the bedroom that will have to have someone fix it. But that won't happen…

Mostly good, but by the end of the third disc, one is a little tired of his drinking. Has subtitles, but most of the dialogue is clear enough for people in the US to follow without having to read every line. Some violence, but not…

We enjoyed Iain Glen in Downton Abbey so thought we'd give this a try. However, because of a dull script and lackluster directing we turned it off after 20 minutes. The story just never got off the ground. Similar to the San Diego…

A gritty, interesting series, filmed and (mostly) set in County Galway, Ireland. Interesting to see a different side of Iain Glen (better known as Ser Jorah from Game of Thrones).

The grittiest mysteries since Rebus. We really liked this series, very dark with just enough humour to keep it from being a real downer. The lead character is a terrible reprobate but his back story, gradually revealed, explains a lot.

Another beautifully filmed series from across the pond rendered senseless by bad writing, bad editing and bad acting. What is this strange reluctance to hire real writers? Esp in Ireland, one of the most literate nations on earth.
character is very unattractive, looks dirty and must smell of booze. the story wasn't very interesting and was not well linked. connections were not always clear.

I like Ken Bruen & love Iian Glenn, but this just didn't do it for me. Good Irish crime, nasty characters, gritty & great scenery to depict Dublin style. Doubt I'll continue series.

This series takes the same plot line as the far superior 'Case Histories': loose cannon ex-cop turns private eye. Edinborough is a lot more telegenic than the Galway we see here, but that fact doesn't explain the failure of this poorly…

I like Iain Glen, pretty gritty - he's not exactly a good role model but is working for good in his own off track way. Suspenseful Irish mystery. British Mystery fans will like this one.
