Fun, adventurous and unique. In this j fiction novel Cinderella is in charge of the fairytale world and her (supposedly) no-longer evil step -mother is running a reform school for troubled youth.
Gilly, the oldest daughter of the old woman that lives in a shoe has been thieving small items to help her family get by. They fell in hard times after Cinderella took the booming glass-slipper business away from her Family. Unfortunately, Gilly gets caught stealing one too many times and ends up doing 3 months in Fairytale Reform school. THAT is where the fun begins!

I thought this was a pretty good book for the fairy tale princesses and villains after the fact story. Instead of having a well known fairy tale character as the main character, the author has somebody else as the main character. The book moved a little slow at first but then it got better as I read on. It has great twists at the end about who is behind the crimes and who is trying to sabotage the school made by ex- villains to turn crime offenders into heroes, but not is all as it seems and the main character and her friends go on a mystery adventure to get to the bottom of it. Full of adventure, mystery, action, heroes and villains. Not everybody is who they seem to be.

Flunked, written by Jen Calonita, follows the journey of Gilly, a twelve year old girl with a quite mischievous personality, but every thief has a story and Gilly is no exception. Living in a kingdom where fairy tale stories are the past, present and future, Gilly is a character found in a poor situation, where she struggles to support her family. Especially when she gets caught stealing! Gilly is sent to Fairy Tale Reform School, which is run ironically by reformed villains, including the Evil Stepmother, the Big Bad Wolf and many more. However, with certain evil activities occurring around the school, Gilly is doubting whether or not these past villains have actually let go of their evil pasts. Follow Gilly’s journey through twisting turns as she questions who she can really trust in a school filled with mischievous students and potential villainous teachers. Overall, this novel is more targeted towards anyone 10 years old and older. I would give this novel a 4/5 stars. The second novel following Flunked, is Charmed.

I think Flunked is a book for our minds to explore. But I also think that it has a lesson inside it. A lesson about not to steal.

Before Disney's Decenndant, Flunked is the reform school must read about the daughter of a showmaker stealing to help feed her family. When she gets caught, she has a choice, go to the reform school or go to jail. Which will she choose? Will she learn to love her choice?

A great read for ages 6 and up, even for teens and adults.

Perhaps feeling remorseful for her past actions, Cinderella's wicked stepmother has founded the Fairy Tale Reform School. Audacious 12-year-old Gilly is sentenced to reform school for her bad habit of taking things that do not belong to her. When she arrives in reform school she discovers there may be some less than happily ever after intentions on behalf of the administration; can a wicked stepmother ever really change?
