Add a CommentI started watching Judi Dench movies and TV. After watching all 26 episodes of "A Fine Romance" which she starred in with her real life husband I noticed "As Time Goes by". It ran for 9 seasons! It is a BBC production about an older (late 50s early 60s) couple who reunite after 38 years. It ran through most of the 1990s and was very popular. I find it very sweet and funny - but not contrived or stupid. Each episode is just under 30 minutes. Very enjoyable!
I will admit, that the first time I saw episodes of this series on PBS, I thought it was a pretty old-fogey show. But after watching the first two series in their entirety, I love it! (Maybe that means I'm an old-fogey.) The humor is subtle and the characters are real. Good stuff!
