As the third installment in the series, this movie is also directed, written by, and starring Sylvester Stallone as the protagonist, Rocky Balboa. After becoming the World Heavyweight Champion, Rocky enjoys his new found fame and fortune, while another young and motivated opponent, Clubber Lang (played by Mr. T), challenges him to a fight. After getting knocked out easily, Rocky is approached by the former champion, Apollo Creed (played by Carl Weathers), to be trained for a rematch with Lang. This is probably my favourite movie in the series, since the role of Clubber Lang has been played very well, and he is the most aggressive and hot-headed villain in the franchise. Rocky’s training is more serious and physically demanding than ever before, as he has to train to fight his strongest opponent yet. The movie also shows how we must continue striving for improvement, because a lack of focus and practice can diminish our talent. I give it a rating of 4 stars.

1982's "Rocky III" is the third in the boxing saga that, somewhow, decades later continues. Part of the charm (Albeit of the sweaty sort.) of the original was that its protagonist was a sweet, scruffy underdog and in this entry, he's hugely successful and the heavyweight champion, so something has been lost. This is the one where he fights Clubber Lang, played by Mr. T, and also the one that introduced Survivor's "Eye of the Tiger," one of the best ever songs to set a training montage to. All the familiar elements and characters are here, but this entry feels tired and bored. He does fight Hulk Hogan though, which I guess is kinda cool. Stallone starred, wrote, and directed. Followed by "Rock IV," in which Rocky fights (And beats!) the Soviet Union.

Rocky III is a strong continuation in the Rocky film series. A beloved character dies in this film but the message of picking yourself up and not quitting is still apparent throughout the film. Highly Recommend.

My favorite rocky movie, and the only one I've seen multiple times over the years. Clubber Lang was his best opponent and Mr. T did a hell of a job playing him. I also enjoyed Creed more when he was training Rocky in this film than when Rocky was fighting him in the first 2 films.

A solid transition movie. Same themes as the other Rocky's except this one is from the man who has it all perspective and who still challenges himself through a roller coaster of emotions.

Not repeating much from the other movies - like fighting Apollo Creed. I like it for its new story and also acting and action. 4 and a half stars!
