Elizabeth is a dedicated, workaholic doctor who is much to busy to have a life. One night, she gets into a terrible car accident and dies. She becomes a spirit stuck between heaven and earth. She doesn't realize that she is dead and thinks nothing has happened. That is until she meets David, a lonely architect, who has rented her old apartment. David thinks he is going crazy when he sees Elizabeth's spirit and tries everyway he can think of to get rid of her, but she just won't go away. Although the two are complete opposites, they somehow manage to form a relationship.

This fantasy/romance movie stars Reese Witherspoon, Mark Ruffalo, Donal Logue, and Jon Heder in this strange and captivating film. David is recently widowed, but begins to notice a ghost living in his apartment that doesn’t believe it is dead. After David asks a psychic for help to figure out why the ghost is there, him and the ghost begin to fall in love. I found this movie pretty interesting because it looks at the way that people process loss as well as a relationship forming between two charming lead actors. I would rate this movie 3.5/5 stars and recommend it to those who like non-traditional romantic movies. @The_Reviewer of the Hamilton Public Library Teen Review Board

Based on the book “If only it were true” by French author Marc Levy, movie is funny and entertaining as well. I don’t think that casting Mark Ruffalo in romantic role was the best match, but the movie carries on nevertheless.

I am a fan of Reese Witherspoon's but this is NOT her best work. It was enjoyable in a simple way but was very, very predictable. The best actor in this movie is not the one you would think (in my op). It is totally the dude that runs the store! He is actually very believable while most of this may not be. I wouldn't run for the hills if I had to watch it again. But unlike a lot of Reese's other works, this does not warrant a second watching.

A really sweet movie, in the best possible way. A very, very good Reese--and that's saying something. Darryl the bookstore psychic-seer is totally "Righteous!" (you'll get it). And Jack/J.J. would definitely be my choice if I needed a shrink.

Cute film! Nothing deep, just fun with a nice setting. Mark and Reese were great. I also enjoyed Jon Heder's role.

Although this movie was highly predictable, it was still a joy if you are [I was] a Reese fan. I believe this was her last movie before her accident - - haven't liked her acting in any movie since.

The movie was pretty much predictable. Pretty Reese Witherspoon plays a pretty got it all together MD hustling to become an attending MD who ends up kind of sort of well ... dead. But in a pretty way. (see film, no spoilers here) Pretty San Francisco. Pretty garden landscaping scenes. Her love interest played a pretty boy landscaping architect who sublet Reese's pretty expensive apartment from a real estate agent who was pretty atypical. If you are a Reese Witherspoon fan, I recommend. If you are a fan or just homesick for San Francisco, this film is just a teaser -- but it is pretty. :)
