There must be something wrong with the electronic cataloging of this item (a DVD about Manet) since it seems meshed with, at least in the comment feature with another two (DVDs about Degas and Piassaro).
This is a bit better than the other two, especially on the social and institutional world Manet was wrestling with, and eventually conquered (or was conquered by). There is relatively little about his techniques, but there is more about his changing styles.

Manet's genius is defended and justified - his differences from and affiliations with the Impressionists are explored and appraised with expert empathy.
