Jokes fell flat. The shouting is annoying.Somewhat political and it tries too hard to be fun.

Too campy for me. I never smiled once.

Clue is an incredible film because it doesn't take itself seriously. It's a film based on a board game. I have seen it roughly 5 times and I'll keep watching it and enjoying it till the heat death of the universe. Brilliantly, they made three endings and released each one individually to different theaters so each audience saw a different movie. The DVD has them all included and each ending makes sense while watching. Tim Curry also delivers an incredible performance throughout.

Eh.. too cute. Check out "Hot Scots' with the Three Stooges. I love these slapstick ones where they are in the "Haunted House". This one just tries too hard being "cute". I didn't even finish the movie.

I'm not really big on mysteries, but I rented this for the pure curiosity of it. Loved the all-star cast, and the storyline was pretty good, but it was way too slow-moving for me. Ironically almost everyone else here has mentioned how hilarious this movie is. For me it wasn't nearly funny enough.

Though funny in many places, this film was just too frenetic for me. Murder by Death is way better.

For some reason my very Christian family had a copy of this on VHS growing up...we had the board game, too, & maybe my parents didn't think we'd get the jokes. So I've seen it at least 100 times over the years, & it is totally fantastic every time I watch it, including a few days ago. It's a combination of visual elegance, impeccable comic timing, a great script...if I were an actual film reviewer, I would say something like "A gut-bustingly hilarious period piece that serves as a celebration of character flaws & human perversity." If you want something more sentimental, though, it was years & years for me that Mr. Green was the singular voice in my entire universe saying he felt no personal shame about being a homosexual. Incredible film, too cool for an Oscar. :-] CR

Professor Plum: "What are you afraid of, a fate worse than death?"
Mrs. Peacock: "No, just death, isn't that enough?"

If you've yet to check out this 1985 cult classic, Clue is a reimagining of the Parker Brothers' infamous board game of the same name that finds six strangers and a butler embroiled in multiple murders that they must solve before the police arrive. Was it Miss Scarlet with the candlestick in the library or Colonel Mustard with the rope in the billiard room? You'll have to watch and find out. The casting is pure perfection, especially Madeline Kahn who plays the hilarious Mrs White. And, the dialogue is witty and packed full of double entendre, which I love. I have more fun on rewatches because I always discover something that I didn't see before, and it is best watched with a bunch of friends so you can quote your favorite moments as the movie goes along. Clue is one of my favorite films that I can always count on when I need a good laugh.
