One should note that this is a companion novel. I did not read the book that precedes it, and did not feel I missed out on anything - except, perhaps, a more likeable lead cheerleader.

I figured something out on page 14 that the main character did finally find out (not figure out) until a page in the 130's. There is no lack of foreshadowing, and perhaps Chelsea's inability to see past her expectations of people makes that all the more frustrating. I didn't find her especially likeable - true, she was a bit of a goody-goody, but she often thought much worse of things or people than was really fair, and I didn't really blame her antagonists.

I felt her character development was not significant enough from start to finish, and was a little disappointed with how easily she got out of all the situations she had either caused, or aggravated by "not lying, but not telling the whole truth".
