We go from small town to "the city" & then "another city" in this tale of gambling, women, & ultimately murder.

Early and entertaining film noir. Robinson & Cagney are great together. Too bad Jimmy only had a supporting role, I would have liked to see him mix it up EGR a bit more. Interesting to see Boris Karloff play a pimp in one scene and get tossed by Robinson. Sad ending is glamorized by pre-code Hollywood.

Great and I mean great Eddie G Movie. I loved every minute of it! They just don't make them like this anymore!
