I love it! Alice Faye in excellent voice & form. Extremely un-PC. The vacuous Millennials who consider no-talent Cecile McLaurin Savant a "jazz" singer could LEARN A LOT musically & culturally from watching the great Al Jolson, here, performing Mammy and California Here I Come in unapologetic, unironic blackface -- a refreshing antidote as well as a much-needed rebuke to today's pathetic relativist (and boringly bland) "art."

VERY GOOD 1939 b/w musical romance with 24 year old Alice Faye in lead role as Rose Sargent, inspired by career and marriage of vaudeville entertainer Annie Brice.
Interesting romantic aspects with her suitor played by Tyrone Power - and fun dancing/singing throughout as Rose struggles to choose between her career and her love interest.
