Antoine and Quentin are 18-year-old twins who live with their father in France. When their estranged mother dies in Spain, they set off to attend the funeral, without telling their father. The journey turns out to be more difficult than either had anticipated and a rift threatens to split the brothers apart. The brothers must struggle to accept each other as individuals, and to find their places in an uncertain world.

This exceptionally beautiful movie is about the love-hate relationship of two gorgeous hunks who happen to look exactly alike, so alike that the make-up department has given one brother a facial scratch so we can tell who is in close-up at any time. This is a delightful exploration of the world of twins that is often playful and amusing. Much of the time it is sexy. And erotic. Each boy has a scene watching his brother making love to another. After one such asignation, the sweaty brother takes a skinny dip to wash away his original sins, as his dressed twin on shore leers at his naked self-image. Incest anyone? It's quite hot. I would love to know the back story on this film. Which came first, the script or the twins? Are the guys "real" actors or is this cinema verite? They are both excellent. The whole film is excellent. Be warned: this film from France is closer to art than many Americans are accustomed.
