Much maligned movie turns out to be vastly better than its repute, vastly more enjoyable than tony Altman trash a la "Short Cuts." Altman knew nothing about Raymond Carver's people, but the crowd assembled for A Wedding the director knew very well. Great performance by Carol Burnett as the MoB, and stunning and/or delightful turns by Paul Dooley, Pat McCormick, Howard Duff, Viveca Lindfors, Geraldine Chaplin, et al. This 1978 film was a character actor's holiday!!
