Year three at Hogwarts means new fun and challenges as Harry learns the delicate art of approaching a Hippogriff, transforming shape-shifting Boggarts into hilarity and even turning back time. But the term also brings danger: soul-sucking Dementors hover over the school, an ally of the accursed He-Who-Cannot-Be-Named lurks within the castle walls, and fearsome wizard Sirius Black escapes Azkaban.

Of all the films this is my favorite one, although I love all of them. This film marks the turning point from being a children's series to a young adult one by becoming a little darker. It was a good transitional film aimed to a little more mature audience. Alfonso Cuarón, director, gave the seri... Read More »

The best Potter film, and the only one that stands on its own merit. You don't need to have read the book to understand it.

This is probably one of the best movies of the Harry Potter series. It is entertaining, interesting, and intriguing. There are so many shocking moments and new developments that add to the overall experience. I love how there are so many little clues that go unnoticed throughout the film, but are later brought to view. This movie is so smart and clever, and will leave you in awe! It is a worthy depiction of the book, along with J.K. Rowling’s intricate story lines. The acting, plot, and special effects are untouchable! I highly recommend that you add this to your shelf! 5/5

Harry Potter’s third year at Hogwarts starts off badly when he learns that deranged killer Sirius Black has escaped from Azkaban prison and is bent on murdering the teenage wizard. While Hermione’s cat torments Ron’s sickly rat, causing a rift among the trio, a swarm of dementors is sent to protect the school from Black. A mysterious new teacher who disappears once a month helps Harry learn to defend himself, but what is his secret tie to Sirius Black? Out of all the Harry Potter movies (and even books) this is my favourite. The crew created an excellent plot and used amazing graphics. The cast was also very well thought out with Sirius Black being played by Gary Oldman and Remus Lupin played by David Thewlis. The plot kept me wanting more and made me question everything I though I knew from the beginning of the film. The series got a little bit darker and there is some imagery that children may find disturbing. Rating – 5/5.

The movie Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban was a great movie to watch i took a liking to this movie also because i'm a big harry potter movie fan. I like this movie a lot because it had a really great plot and explained Harry Potter's past very well and who he was when he was young. I also really like this movie because it made you really think and it was a really surprising movie so it was really fun to keep guessing what was happening. This movie was a straightforward ending which I liked a lot because most movies are really guessable and you can just know the ending watching the movie half way through but this movie made you guess a lot which I liked. Without giving any spoilers, this movie is about Harry Potter and a mysterious criminal that one day ends up going missing, but what they find later on is truly incredible.I also like this movie because it gave you a good perspective on what everyone was thinking about during the whole movie. For these reasons I would give this movie a 5/5 rating.
