More of a story about an adoptee's search for her biological parents than a story about the Amish or about midwifery. The family relationships got a bit complicated, and hard to keep track of. The story could have been shortened considerably.

a very intense and complicated story. Takes a lot of concentration to keep up with all the family ties and keep the story connected. Slow reading in places but toward the end it picked up and the end was a satisfying climax

The Amish midwife actualy has very little to do with amish people or midwifery so if you are interested in those topics this book may not be for you. This book is about a a lady on a sesperate search for "her story". She needs to know who her real parents were and why they gave her up.

This story was slow going in many places and I almost didn't finish it. However it deffinatly picked up the last half of the book. The ending is both unexpected and satisfying. If you can get through the first half then I deffinatly recomend this book.
