When a kitty discovers there is no cat food in the house, she decides to become very, very bad. From the creator of the New York Times bestseller Boing! comes the riotous story of a cat gone berserk; four times over an in alphabetical order each time. Kitty is not happy hen she's told that her favorite foods are all gone and all that's left are asparagus, beets, cauliflower, dill, and 22 other equally unappealing vegetables. So she ate my homework, bit grandma, clawed the curtains, damaged the dishes, and so on, through Z. Only when tastier things arrive, an assortment of anchovies, buffalo burritos, chicken cheesecake, does she apologize to grandma.

With all the books about felines behaving poorly, this might just be the best of the bunch.
Although Bad Kitty goes from a picture book to Juveniles, it's all wonderful.
I've enjoyed these books since long before I had any children.

(ours was the catnipped edition) We've loved this book since the time our son was 3, and still love it when he is 7 1/2. The colorful illustrations are very funny - the cat is *so* expressive. Although its base is the alphabet, it doesn't feel like an alphabet book. It is a ridiculous and engaging read.

This is a story all about a kitty who doesn't want to eat the candy but at the end she follows her master when she says that :"candy is not a cat food". My favourite character is Kitty and my favourite part of the story is when she finally eats her food.

The book cover shown with bitemarks is the special "cat-nipped" edition, with some slightly different artwork of kitty being bad than the original, and yet another alphabet on the endnotes.

Kitty is out of food, and is upset that her owners have provided her with an alphabetical list of fruits and vegetables as meals. So Kitty goes on a rampage of her own, also alphabetical, where she attacks and/or destroys much of the house. Then his owners come home with plenty of Kitty friendly food, leading Kitty to try an make amends for her misdeeds, also alphabetically.

Author/Illustrator Nick Bruel has produced a book that takes the reader through the alphabet four times, with a great deal of humour, putting this work miles ahead of the average alphabet book. This is a must for the primary teacher or librarian. Parents too will enjoy reading this out loud to their children.
