The cast chemistry has begun to break down a bit and the plots are paralleling previous season's offerings. Still entertaining, but becoming too predictable.

Set 19 has better stories than some of the other ones from this series.

As much as I agree with etsyaddict44 comment I still found the writing, plot and delivery very much up to par. The characters know their mark and are getting on as so many of us that have enjoyed the series over the years. Still very much worth the visit to the beautiful English countryside and sharing a tale of mystery and murder woven as only the country folk of Midsomer can do.

As a long time fan it's disapointing to see this series fading away. John Nettles is still a wonderful actor but Barnaby lacks his previous spark. With each episode there is less and less of the back and forth between Barnaby and his long suffering sergeant which was what made the show great for me. Instead Jones is increasingly left to his own devices or assisted by the new DC character. I was most disapointed, however, by the character of DCI John Barnaby who is intended to replace Tom Barnaby as main character. The actor (Neil Dudgeon) is okay, but lacks the charisma to carry the show as John Nettles has done for so many years. In my opinion the show will not last long without him.
