RAM is one of, if not the best Paul McCartney album out there. It's overall theme of moving on and pushing forward or other wise known as Ramming on, away from all the negative and hardships of life is a very positive and true message to follow. You see a different side of Paul in RAM which makes it a very unique Paul McCartney album. It began the idea of Wings and is the follow up to the amazing McCartney Album. It is also the only album that he released under the name Paul and Linda McCartney.
Many of the songs are very underrated as you don't hear them that much at all. The McCartney Album was about finding an escape (with the escape being family, home and love) RAM is about pushing forward and moving on. The 2nd Disc does have some great songs as well. Another Day is a great tune being his first single released in his solo career and Oh Woman Oh Why (the B-side of Another Day) (in my opinion) is THE most underrated McCartney song out there. RAM is just a good Rock N Roll album that any Paul McCartney fan should own.
Its always proof of an artist's wisdom back in the day in terms of what they released and what they held back. The original remaster of the album is still one of the absolutely best albums to listen from beginning to end, preferably on quality headphones or a sound system able to deliver the full stereo signal. Unfair to comment on the quality of the music because this is my all time favorite music album, period. But I can tell you the included disc2 gives you a taste of the musical environment Paul was in. Not sure disc 2 will get as many plays as the original. Nope. Not likely. But if you don't already have this cd and are a Paul McCartney fan, this is a great choice. If you already have it in its original analog release, well... you may not be profoundly impressed with what extra quality "remastered" alludes to. Especially when the original recording was already ground breaking matched up with truly quality songmanship.
