Kudos on author on using teen pregnancy as plot device in science fiction novel. Feel more like cold war thriller on naive teenager on who to trust.
It's feel like ABC's After School Special or a Robert Corman B-movie, but that's not necessarily a bad thing...

What I liked: If you are looking for something original, edgy, and funny, you'll enjoy this book. It's a breath of fresh air.

What I disliked: The writing was a bit choppy at some points. The term "chromer," as it is used in the book, crosses the line: it's not edgy, it's offensive, and I don't know why the editor kept the term in the book.

There are certainly good things about this book: there is no romanticizing about pregnancy, there is actual life-or-death danger, a genuinely mechanically capable protagonist.
It's a fun read, I do recommend, just don't expect it to be totally mind-bending.
Mothership is all about a fun read (even though there is actually a far amount of gunfire for a book involving pregnant ladies).

I really enjoyed this book! It is snarky and light-hearted even though the characters are dealing with some pretty serious space stuff. It's like "Juno" in space!
