By for the best one out of her series. I can't wait to see if she writes one about winter coming out of prison. I soooo proud of Porsche.
I sincerely thought this book was a great read. Those that said it was boring must not be used to books of great detail and respect to explain the setting and plot. This book was so well written and caused me to finish this book within 3 days, because you want to know what will happen next and so on. I am a fan of books that offer great detail, and explains everything that is going on. This book demonstrated love and Porsche's struggle to obtain the love she always wanted and missed out on. Porsche's story was a good read. However, I was unsatisfied with Winter, she seemed like her same old, stuck up self and it was really disheartening that she didnt change after her time in jail. I wish Sister Souljah could explain what happens to Winter in an Epilogue, in fact I hop she does this to all of her characters. One other comment I would like to expand on is Midnight (Bilal Ode), If you read the Midnight books you would understand he married a Japanese girl and went to Japan to take her back and everything. This did not at all fit the structure in the story, but i dont know, it happened when he was 14 (which is still unrealistic) and maybe he grew up and out. But I give this book a high rate, and i really recommend that you give this book a try and read it with an open mind
While I thoroughly enjoyed "The Coldest Winter Ever", I was unsatisfied at the end of the story. I went through all of Winter's struggles and still maintained hope for her and the family. Sister Souljah owed me and in this book she delivered. I love Porsche Santiaga like she was my own kid. I cried in the end, happy, cleansing, faith restoring tears. I will definitely read it again.
"A Deeper Love inside:The Porsche Santiaga Story" by Sister Souljah is a well written, intense, roller coaster ride in story format. Anyone expecting a sequel to the earth shattering "Coldest Winter Ever" which glorifies drugs and violent redemption will be sorely disappointed. This story, although a work of fiction, resonants as a mature and honest perspective on the effects of the drug trade in Black America on a raw, personal level as well as provides perspective on families and communities. Through Porsche's journey the reader sees the other, less glamorous side fraught not with wealth and possessions, but with death, disease, institutional degradation, insanity and brokenness. In doing what was necessary to survive, along the way Porsche/Siri/Ivory are blessed in the process to find love. This love would allow her to trust others and even herself. This is a well written work that I look forward to reading again throughout the years.
s. Lesson one was trust, followed by silence, loyalty, friendship, teamwork, style, and method
