Great story & relevant to today's terrorist threats and government secrecy / surveillance.

I couldn't finish this video. It tries hard to be slick and arty, but has too many plot contrivances. The protagonists race from one implausible scene to the next, with the menacing symphonic score trying heroically to fill in the gaps.

I enjoyed this one. Good acting and great photography. Although the close circuit scenes are so minimal as to not warrant the title.
I enjoyed the concept of secret forces getting to close to criminal actions, I think this sort of thing really does happen and I appreciate a movie that brings this to the forefront.

For the most part an intelligently written spy\political thriller that falls short on delivering. The ending is very weak. Not a bad movie, but very forgettable.

Closed Circuit has a low-key, intricate plot which requires full attention to follow. You will not be taken by the hand and have every plot twist over-explained, so those with short attention spans should give it a miss. Jim Broadbent in a minor role is excellent as usual. This movie is such a relief from the mindless junk dished up by our mainstream TV. A thought-provoking, moody, subtle thriller.

Really wanted to enjoy this movie--the premise interested me, and I like both Eric Bana and Rebecca Hall. But it misses the boat--it's too pedestrian somehow. One or two scenes stretch credibility--there is one where Eric Bana knows he is under constant surveillance and yet stands under a tree in a park (no one else around) while a journo stops right next to him and pretends to be tying her shoe and then warming up while he tells her his secrets.

The plot starts out well but begins to unravel towards the end, as is so often the case in this genre. Nevertheless, very good editing, a snappy script and a fast pace make this an easy evening's entertainment. Rebecca Hall shines as one of the barristers, Anne-Marie Duff takes a star turn as the sinister MI5 maven, and Ciaran Hinds has a twinkle in his eye as he delivers one good line after another.

Attorney General to Lawyer Martin:
Now, we can fret about it, become indignant, write an angry letter to the
newspapers or our Members of Parliament. Won't make any difference. Emir's evidence is being
heard in closed session and that is
where it will remain. It will be presented in accordance with the law, then the evidence will be placed in a box. The box will then be closed and it will never be opened again.Of course, there'll be the inevitable government inquiry, which will take
a number of years and will fail to
reach any conclusions.

But if no one misbehaves, no one larks around at the back of the class ...,

Lawyer: ... But they could have crossed
him as well. There is doubt.
MI-5: You lawyers, you like your
fxyzing doubt, don't you?
Well, I can't use doubt.
I can only use certainty.
I need certain knowledge
in order to do my job.
To save lives.
You people,
you're all the same.
You want
the freedom to attack me,
but without me, you wouldn't
have much freedom at all.
