If you feel capable of sitting through more than 5 minutes of this saccharin and superficial treatment of coupling, then go ahead and view this film. The only positive aspect is being able to see India, it's beauty and the rainbow of lively colors it allows one to see. Maybe, if you were a middle class Bengali in your twenties in the 1950s, this film might be nostalgic, or at least 'romantic' (at that time.)

Amazing performances by Sonakshi Sinha and Ranveer Singh in a rare and startling film out of today's Bollywood.

Like many movies out of India, this one is highly stylized romanticism, with lots of music. The plot is both predictable and unrealistic, to the point of absurdity at times. Star crossed lovers bring down the fortunes of their friends and families, making the two main characters spoiled and unlikeable.

The acting is acceptable, while slightly over the top, the sets and photography are visually pleasing. The plot and some of the scenes are weak. Some of the subtitling is poorly timed or grammatically erroneous.

I cannot recommend this movie. It could have been 40 minutes shorter, and the ending is predictable.

There are much better movies out there to lose over two hours watching. I give it two stars only due to its production values and acting, otherwise it would have gotten one star.
