If this were a movie, it would be a romantic/comedy with a bit of drama thrown in. I didn't expect this type of novel from Ms. Moyes because I had just read 'The Ship of Brides', 'Me Before You' and 'The Girl You Left Behind', all of which were more serious. I gave them 4 and 5 Stars and this one a 3.5 but I did definitely enjoy it, just in a different manner. It took me awhile to adjust my focus because I didn't expect the humour and quirkyness!

The underdogs succeed! Excellent theme on accepting differences, especially in not-so-perfect circumstances. There is a lovely dog and the mother and two kids make a wonderful team to overcome life's challenges.

An uplifting book despite all the troubles for this single mother. I love happy endings. It is a book about overcoming problems and it is ok to be smart and different. Follow your own interests. It is about honesty and encouraging others. You must pay the price for your mistakes but move on. It was challenging at first to read about bullying but I couldn't put the book down.

Another gem from the lovely Jojo Moyes! Beautifully written and nicely paced, you root for the two protagonists in this story and hope that love truly conquers all.

This was a fun read with excellent characters. I loved every one of them and I did dislike the arses. This story dealt with realistic problems which had me think and wanting to come back to the story whenever I had the chance. The twists and surprises kept me wanting to go on and kept me curious. I wouldn't say I have liked the plot as much as Me Before You, but I have sensed the writing style of JoJo Moyes and I am looking forward to read all her other books.

This was a really quick read; light and fairly predictable plot but well written and fun.

Wow. I don’t tend to cry often while I’m reading a book, yet I am not afraid to admit that I cried not once, but TWO TIMES while reading this one. Seriously. Wonderful characters that I became very attached to, including a huge, smelly dog named Norman. Touching, heartfelt, and full of humour. I absolutely loved this book!

Can One Plus One be greater than two? Read this delightful novel and find out. Jess is a single mom who is the mother of a Math Whiz daughter and a different son. They endure no end of trials and tribulations but Jess never loses her optimism. Will the burdens never cease? Enter Ed Nicholls who too is a victim. This enchanting book describes Jess's adventures with her family and Ed. Will it all turn out right? Nothing like reading the book to find out.

In some ways this novel was just missing something-fluidity maybe? It was not as good as Me Before You, but it was still engaging and sweet, and a little heartbreaking at times. I kept thinking about the book and couldn't wait to get back to it, so that definitely says something!

Great Summer Read! I did prefer "Me Before You" but this one was also a quick read that kept me wondering what would happen next.

Everything seems to go wrong for Jess, her two kids, and a large slobbery dog, trying to survive bullies, two jobs, and a genius for a daughter. You would think that life has her beaten but, with a little help from a friend, she "sorts it all out"!
