Much has changed since Selfridges first opened its doors. Five years later, Europe is on the brink of war and London is enjoying one last defiant period of decadence. Mr. Selfridge now has his sights set on joining the establishment and rebuilding his family life. Tensions are also running high on the shop floor as Agnes is back from Paris, chic and successful. Not everyone is thrilled by her newfound confidence and by the reappearance of her old ally Henri Leclair, returned from America.

The Duke is assasinated & Britain joins WWI in this season. This was a fascinating era for me. Women’s voices began to be heard. War was no longer solely about fighting face to face. The world was changing. The season did a wonderful job of showing a different side of those days without showing us the horrors of trench warfare.

Evan better than the first season! The screenplay is outstanding and the actors and actresses are excellent. You will probably be like me and watch all four seasons of "Mr. Selfridge"!

I like this show, and...It was terrible how Mr. Selfridge was manipulated. However things worked out, and Lord Locksley got what he deserved.

Season 2 shows a more mature and self-assured Mr. Selfridge. We again get fine performances from new characters, and even some political intrigue regarding the onset of WWI. Most importantly, relationships develop, Henri and Agnes (the heart of this series) return, and so does Mrs. Selfridge. You end up caring what happens, and can't wait for the next episode. Highly recommended!

Season 2 moved along faster pace as expected. If you enjoyed S-1, should enjoy S-2 as well.

If you liked season one you will definitely enjoy season two. You have to root for Evanston's Jeremy Piven in this series that makes him a fish out of water in London.

Rose: Mae, is everything all right?

Mae: Never worry about me, Rose.
Never. I'm fine. I'm like a champagne cork in the bathtub. Always popping back up. A bit like Miss Day in that respect.

Reporter: How does it feel to run
the biggest attraction in town?
Selfridge: We are not the biggest attraction in town. We are the third biggest.Behind Buckingham Palace
and the Tower of London. ... A store is nothing without its staff, like a home is nothing without its family.
