The best drama I have seen in some time. The ethical and practical dilemmas of being a woman in a position of power and still needing to balance that with the needs of family were well displayed. I thought the acting was excellent and i was glad the characters were functional and thoughtful human beings (as opposed to what I primarily see in the media).

With a female lead over 50 playing a woman in a position of power, I wanted to like this show, but I didn't. The writing and stories aren't anywhere near smart enough to be compared to West Wing, but it's not even as good as Scandal, and I only like Scandal to pass the time. I would prefer characters with more flaws, and a less predictable plot.

I got hooked right away on this show. While it does present as a cross between West Wing and Homeland, I like the show's focus on Secretary McCord's family. The show is well acted and well cast, with a nice balance of action and drama. Love the interplay among the Secretary's office staff, especially the relationship between Daisy and Matt.

The two leads are the best thing here. Other than that, this is somewhat of a play-it-by-numbers drama.
