Nonsensical, extremely black farce!
If you're serious person, ignore this film.
If not, then laugh out loud to death!
Foolish but a time-killing entertaining piece.

So, it’s "Weekend at Bernies" coupled with "Castaway" though less funny than the former (which wasn’t funny anyway) and less interesting than the latter (which wasn’t very interesting to begin with). Add a little bit of "Gilligan’s Island" as Hank tries to recreate the real world for Manny using trash and flotsam, and you have the kind of juvenile drivel that wows them at the MTV Awards while the rest of us see it for what it really is: a three million dollar fart joke. Trying to view this insultingly stupid mess as either a spoof or a grand metaphor about finding one's way in life doesn’t help either for I’ve seen reruns of "Beavis & Butthead" which offered more social insight with far more finesse. And worst of all, it leaves you with a host of disturbing visuals not the least of which is Dano in garbage dump drag dancing with Radcliffe who’s suspended from a tree by wires. Cast and crew reportedly taped their own bouts of flatulence for use on the soundtrack and that alone should be the only warning you need.

This one was a little weird, but I like weird. If you like this, I'd recommend also checking out Vivarium, The Lobster, and The Sacred Killing of a Deer.

The most surprising film I've watched in a while. It has a wildly original premise and uses it's 'toilet humor' as symbolism about the way we tend to hold ourselves back in life. It's a weird, fun time that's totally worth checking out.

This was one the the most interesting films I have ever seen. I can see why some folks may not have liked it, one needs an open mind to appreciate it. Fabulous for its originality.

Apr 12, 2019 any other time this movie would never ever (deservedly so) have been made squander time & money on such a degenerate movie is beyond me.
Secondly....I may need some heavy duty therapy to erase any trace of this deviant movie from my memory - just the thought of it makes me puke in my mouth!!!
Lastly....what really frightens me is the thought that the writers, producers, director, actors & indeed the people here who have given this movie 5 stars - think the story is normal & are walking around without straight jackets on. I pray I never meet any of you scary people!!

I thought this movie was brilliant! My husband and I laughed the whole way through. The humor is quite gross, not for those who are squeamish. This character's struggle is heartbreaking, but it is told with so much humor and compassion. Definitely worth checking out!

I very much enjoy that all the normies are having a hard time with this film. I found it to be hilarious, heartwarming, musical?! and just overall pretty great but yeah, you can't take it very seriously.

I could barely go with interesting. I certainly would not recommend it for children. It is a very peculiar movie to say the least.

I picked this dvd up because it was a STAFF PICK! It makes me wonder about the library staff. The movie started out as an interesting idea but after about 40 minutes it got too gross for me. I can't believe the STAFF got 15 copies of this 'thing.'

"I just had a thought about a thought. How do you hide your thoughts, and why do we have to hide everything?"

May 01, 2020

Hank: Because I'm just a scared, ugly, useless person.

Manny: But maybe everyone's a little bit ugly. Maybe we're all just dying sacks of sh*t, and maybe all it'll take is one person to just be okay with that, and then the whole world will be dancing and singing and farting, and everyone will feel a little bit less alone.

Hank: Manny, you have no idea how nice that sounds.

Add a Summary

Well, I'll give it this much: It's original if nothing else.
The performances and cinematography are both really good, with enough WTF moments to rattle even the most jaded viewer.
Plus: The ending is well worth the time getting there.
