Not content with his job as a bouncer, Doug Glatt (Seann William Scott) dreams of a more rewarding job and gaining his parents' respect. When a chance encounter with an on-ice thug leads to a fistfight that Doug easily wins, the onlooking coach sees Doug's potential, in spite of his lack of any hockey playing ability. Joining the team and with the encouragement of his best friend (Jay Baruchel), Doug quickly becomes a rising star. Soon he'll have the opportunity to face off against the infamous league thug, Ross Rhea (Liev Schreiber), perhaps finally land a girlfriend, and stick to a job he enjoys. Now all he needs is to learn how to skate.

Pretty bad movie- i can't believe they made a sequel to this waste of time- it's not even funny.

People haven't lipread coaches & players on questionable calls on Hockey night in Canada recently, eh?
Sweet story on the endangered hockey enforcer.
Should give extreme hockey parents pause for thought.
Not a bad independent movie on smaller budget.

Lame-o- great opportunity wasted- watch " Slapshot " instead, it's ACTUALLY funny- as opposed to this dumb flic.

Cussing galore. At some point it gets annoying.

Not really my thing. To watch a guy punch other players repeatedly

I mainly watched this because Jay Baruchel is my fave Canadian actor and interestingly he was one of the writers. For people who were upset about all the swearing & crude humour -aren't you aware that's how it is with most hockey players?! Jesus! Either take the stick out and relax or be aware BeFoRe you watch these types of films.

Fans of professional hockey will most likely enjoy this comedy drama about a dimwitted but personally nice guy who becomes an enforcer (goon) for a minor league hockey team. There is plenty of hockey action as well as fighting in this lighthearted and funny story reminiscent of the movie Slap Shot starring Paul Newman.

Shouldn't have been made. Waste of digital bits.

This was much better than I thought it would have been. If only they could have put less of Jay Baruchels horrible Adam Sandler-like charachter in the film. I cringed in almost all of his scenes. Stiffler was great as the pugalist, and it renewed my desire to see Meagan Follows' "Cement Head" for a comparison of a similar hockey film.
