Very good representation of the actual events! It is probably going to be scary to some people who haven't considered that any connected device can be "hot mic'ed" by the federal hackers. That means your laptop, your desktop, and even your smart TV if it has a camera, can be used covertly to spy upon you in situations that you think are very private. Once again the buzzword is connected. If your privacy is truly important, simply resign yourself to the fact that when you are accessing the internet it is not private. Enjoy the movie, don't get too scared.

I really enjoyed the movie it is scary to know along time ago ; people read the mail and sealed it back, then the telephone was "wiretapping" now the computer is another entity, scary on the progression of lost in privacy. Just like anyone can take a picture of you with the phone and your personal stiff is lost. Love the movie for awareness to the public I think I will go back to primitive technology;people know how to move forward but loose the ways of the old in the process ...cheers to the movie 4 thumbs..sign language...part of the movie ..did you catch it

Not a bad movie. It had a different perspective of showing who Snowden is. It has a clear path on what Snowden was before knowing him as a hacker that leak the secret document of the government surveillance. The movie is really persuasive and Joseph-Gordon Levitt delivers a powerful performances to Snowden. I may have a little different opinion towards Snowden after watching this movie. He may be a traitor, but his agenda really revealed the dark side of the US government.

A hero to some, a traitor to others. Whatever your opinion, this is compelling viewing which reveals the motivation behind the man who put America's intelligence community on notice. Joseph Gordon-Levitt is believable in the titular role, depicting the crisis of conscience that wreaked havoc on his personal life and on America's reputation as the "land of the free". Solid script.

My husband and I both sat down to watch this movie with a relatively open mind but we found we could not even finish it, it was so over the top. It is essentially trying to depict Snowden as smarter than everyone else in the entire organisation. A very disappointing movie, we went from open-minded about Snowden's motivations and actions to being decidedly anti-Snowden. Not worth the time to watch it. Any actual fact checking reveals this movie to be very loosely based on facts. Some may claim Snowden is a hero but we cannot underestimate the lives he put in danger in the process.

For anyone curious about WHY Edward Snowden did what he did, this is a must-see movie. Be sure to watch the bonus Q & A session, in which he participates, via Skype, from Moscow!
