If you liked books such as 'Think and Grow Rich', 'The Power Of Attraction', or even 'The Secret', then this is the book for you. Personally, I don't have a strong desire to build 'Vision Boards', or to 'adapt' my thinking to become totally focused on being rich at all costs, damn the risks, so I'm probably not the author's target demographic. This book is based on the primary concept that we're to blame for our own lack of money, not taxation, not the economy, not the parasitic 'Financial Industry', just us and our attitude that either attracts or chases money away. The point is made in the first chapter, the rest is just filler. I found the writing style to be loose and over reaching for humour. I lost count of how many time she wrote things like ' Good Gawd you have to...' or her favourite go to phase ' I'ma be honest wit you girlfriend...'
Did not really enjoy it as the writer is pretty much trying to condition the reader's mind to love money. The book does not talk about investments to make, side hustles to do, or give advice on how to generate income. Overall, it's a repetition of paragraphs trying to convince the reader that money is optimal to life (think rich and be rich). Very shallow arguments in my opinion.
I really enjoyed reading this! Jen Sincero is a great writer and hilarious! It's a book about motivation, not a book for planning specific paths to wealth, so I'd say read it if you like Abraham Hicks and or Tony Robbins! Definitely going to read her other books!
This book is awesome! It has really changed my mindset about how I think of money. It helped me wake you up and get out of "victim" mode to stop feeling bad for myself.
Instead of blaming anything/anyone else as to why you cannot get rich, it reminds you that you are in control of the decisions you make for yourself.
Jen's writing style makes it very fun to read, and inspiring. I read it twice just so I could do the exercises she gives you at the end of each chapter, as I dismissed them the first time I read the book.
