Excellent show! Lily Tomlin and Jane Fonda are totally badass. It's lovely to see the bond between them grow in the 2nd season.

I have seen season 2 of “Grace and Frankie" and apparently there is something about this show that eludes me. It seems to be well regarded by the critics, and by people I know and respect. I don’t want to blast the show; I want to like it. But, truthfully, I don’t get it. To me, “Grace and Frankie” is devoid of humor. If there is one thing I can’t stand, it is a humorless comedy. Of course, comedy, like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder. Well, I’m not beholding any comedy when I watch this show. It does have dramatic moments here and there, unfortunately my response is usually this: (shrug). This show is kind of like a beautifully wrapped gift, all ribbons and bows and fancy paper--with socks inside. White crew socks. Surprisingly, considering the heavyweights in the cast, I did not feel any real chemistry among the actors. I never once thought I was watching realistic portrayal of an unusual situation; I was watching Jane and Lily engage in profane, snappy TV repartee. I am not bothered by profanity. Lack of humor? Now that bothers me. Never once did I buy in to Martin Sheen and Sam Waterston as a couple. And the supporting cast adds next to nothing to the show. So, what am I missing? Why don’t I get it? Is it my gender? My age? My political affiliation? My station in life? My all-around grumpiness? The phase of the moon? I don’t know . . .
