I'm just sad that there were only three books.

I really liked this book and can't wait to read the sequels. I like that the story jumps right in. Towards the middle/end of the book is when it really becomes a page turner though. Loved the weirdness of this story.

We’ve seen this scenario before: guy (or gal) wakes up, usually in a hospital after an accident, and the world has changed. Could be zombies, aliens, time shifts, etc. And thus starts Pines, clearly written with a TV series in mind. But Pines is an adrenaline rush of a mystery/thriller that is hard to put down, because we want to know what is going on. The mystery is revealed at the end, so despite the author’s outstanding ability to create page-turning tension, will the second book be as good? Only one way to find out!

This book was a major page turner. I HAD to find out how much more could be completely crazy! Very suspenseful, very attention grabbing, lots of twists and turns.

An absolute thrill ride of a Science Fiction novel. It will have you guessing the entire read and you will not be able to put this book down! As someone who can sometimes judge a books ending harshly I found Pines to have one of my all time favorite endings purely because I never saw the twist coming. Give this exciting read a try if you need a book to easily get into.

keeps the reader captivated. The ending was genuinely surprising and was nothing I could have predicted.

Remember when M. Night Shyamalan first came on the scene and made good movies? How about the first the time you saw Twin Peaks? This book reminded me of that. It's not like it was the greatest piece of literature, but I have to admit I could not put it down and had to find out what the hell was going on. Thanks to some experimentation in the 80's and 90's my brain is a tiny bit off, and I really had no clue what was happening and all of my guesses were wrong in the end. I wish now I would have only bought the first piece though because I can't imagine this working as a trilogy. It seems to me that it would be better with a bizarre and cryptic ending and I'm afraid it's going turn into another soap opera from here on out.

I wanted to read this after seeing the tv show. There are differences between the two but the book was pretty good.
