"Kate, Aubrey, and Jenny. They first met as college roommates and soon became inseparable, even though they are as different as three women can be. Twenty years later, one of them is standing at the edge of a bridge, and someone else is urging them to jump. How did things come to this? As the novel cuts back and forth between their college years and their adult years, you see the exact reasons why these women love and hate each other--but can feelings that strong lead to murder? Or will everyone assume, as is often the case, that it's always the husband?"-- Provided by publisher.

I found this a bit of a slog to read to start with. Kept reading as I thought it would get better. Unfortunately it didn't figured the twist early. Characters were so so.

The writing in this suspense was only so-so. At times it kind of reminded me of a weird blend of YA suspense and at others it modeled Liane Moriarty's domestic suspense. It just didn't do it all that well. The characters also came off as rather flat to me. Unlikable characters like those in this book need to have something about them that is interesting to pull the story a long, but these did not. I also couldn't quite figure out why the characters considered themselves to be friends and so it just made their actions that much less believable. So, would I recommend this suspense? If you're really into suspense and like to read all of it, then this is certainly not the worst out there, but there are lots of better written ones out there.

This book is cliche ridden, with stock characters, uneven narration and poor plotting. I wanted to give up on it but kept reading just to find out the ending. Don’t waste your time like I did.

A Compelling Read

Aubrey Miller, Jenny Vega, Kate Eastman are freshmen assigned roommates at Carlisle College in Belle River NH. Their economic and social status are drastically different and as 18 year olds their life on campus brings them a wide range of situations they choose to tackle together.

Now 40, they are all back living in Belle River and examining their lives and their friendship in light of new developments.

This novel weaves a strong tale into a who-done-it, keeping the suspense taunt. A surprise ending left me dazed. I loved the ending!

I was disappointed with the ending of this book. I enjoy a twist, but find it hard when the twist is not very well explained. The characters were interesting and usually well developed, so it was overall a good by-the-pool or before bed read.

i really enjoyed this book. The second part was more interesting. Great author and character
depictions.
