Add a CommentI'm in agreement with all the comments posted... This seems to be a holding pattern album by the group, but we keep listening because this group matters in the grand scheme of things.
Undoubtedly Arcade Fire’s worse album yet.
Fortunately, “bad” Arcade Fire is still pretty good. Despite being a simpler (phoned in) record, Everything Now continues down Reflektor’s more danceable route while not straying too far from the Arcade Fire ethos of on point, yet starry eyed criticism of American culture.
This album stinks, arcade fires lost their touch.
I am only slightly disappointed with this album, partly because of the lack of variety in lyrics. For instance,in the song infinite content they only use eleven words. But nevertheless, Arcade fire is still Arcade fire, and this album I believe is just a slight back drop which will pave the way for the future.
This one falls somewhere between The Suburbs (phenomenal) and Reflektor (good). Some of the lyrics are a little cliché - ideas and even phrases we have heard from them before - but there are a few fresh songs: "Electric Blue" and "Put Your Money on Me". I love how the album starts and ends with Everything Now, so that it plays as one big piece, which starts over without you noticing.
