Strong film. You would have to be my age to remember the crippling recession of 1980-1983, but the American indie farmers were systematically crushed by Wall Street raiders. Classic battle of good vs. evil----the imagery and subtle symbolism elevates this film above other recent releases. One of the better films that you have never heard of and worthy of your viewing.

this is no fairy tale in the "Once upon at time", or "lived happily ever after." type of bedtime story. Its raw and emotional and ugly. It takes place in a world where right and wrong is not longer black and white. Where change can mean death to your way of life, to the very existence of family.
this is no tale for the kiddos, its real life as it was and as it is. This tale could easily translate into today for so many in any country in the world.
there is some language in this film, not much, but its there.

Well done ... intriguing!

This movie is different and that is sometimes good. Hidden plays on words and images make it worth the watch but don't expect to sit back and just watch you have to do some thinking too

Very interesting and moving movie. Well worth the watch: Thought provoking and "entertaining".

A very different movie; one of the best I have watched this year. Peyton's acting captured by attention the whole time.

A dark story when an early teen girl found a man trapped inside an abandoned grain silo in her family farm during the 1980s. Amazing performance by Peyton Kennedy who is merely 13 year old today! Good plot premise and a satisfactory finish.

Good triumps over evil. Simple story but surprisingly good movie. I like it.

You can never trust people to change their true nature, Gitty. A lion is a lion. It's a dog-eat-dog world.
No, thanks. I'm never gonna work in a factory.
- Oh, yeah?
I'm special.
- You know, Gitty.. Some people think they are hot shxt on a silver platter when really, they're just cold turd on a paper plate.
What does that even mean, mom?
- It means special people don't have to tell you they're special.
If you let them.. They will take everything from you. It's not about right or wrong,
Gitty. It's about who has control.. Who has the power. You have to decide for yourself.
There's two kinds of people in this world. Warriors, they have to protect the weak ones even from themselves. And farmers, they don't make good warriors.
There's two types of people in this world you gotta choose what kind of person you're gonna be.

Just 50 short years ago, there were seven million small farms in this country. Today, in 1982, there are less than two million..
I have tried everything. I cannot refinance, interest rate's at 16%. You were the person that talked me into getting this property in the first place. You were the one that said we cannot lose. You are telling me that we have less than we had before?
You know, Gitty, they buy and sell farms like they're trading baseball cards. They have no respect for what we do no respect for what we built. We work our tails off and this is where we're from and this is where we're staying. You remember that, Gitty. This is the best place on earth.
