Malala's first picture book will inspire young readers everywhere to find the magic all around them. As a child in Pakistan, Malala made a wish for a magic pencil. She would use it to make everyone happy, to erase the smell of garbage from her city, to sleep an extra hour in the morning. But as she grew older, Malala saw that there were more important things to wish for. She saw a world that needed fixing. And even if she never found a magic pencil, Malala realized that she could still work hard every day to make her wishes come true.

Calling this book a delight doesn't quite capture Malala's Magic Pencil. While this is shelved with the children's books, the story and images work on a completely different level for adults, especially if you are aware of Malala's story. Highly recommended!

This book is about Malala and how she wanted a magic pencil! She wanted to do everything with it like put a lock on her door, stop time so she could sleep an extra hour e.t.c. Before sleeping, she would wish for that magical pencil to be in her cupboard, but it would never be there. This is a very sad book as it tells us about some people who look in the trash to find things. It is very interesting and you should definitely read it, as it shows us, readers, to be thankful for what we have! Malala is a very bright girl who would like to fulfill all her dreams with her magical pencil! Rating 3/5

This was a fantastic version of I Am Malala, it highlights all of the important parts without being too dark and it emphasizes the importance of having a voice.

"Malala's Magic Pencil" may be a children's picture book but the theme is very grown-up. As she is growing up Malala wishes for a magic pencil. She wants the things she draws to come true. As she grows up her world changes and she now wishes good things for girls. She wants girls to be able to attend school. Brave Malala uses a regular pencil to write about the challenges girls faced in her country. Thus, an ordinary pencil becomes a magic pencil in the hands of this brave girl who goes on to win the Nobel Peace Prize.A very motivational book for youngsters, particularly young girls.

Beautiful! Enchanting pictures authored by a very brave young woman. More books like this are necessary! This is the year of the nonfiction picture books. this one certainly does not disappoint.
