By taking us on the journey of three refugees and their families the author so comprehensively defines their experience whether it's Jews fleeing Nazi Germany, Cubans leaving during Fidel Castro's reign, or more recently Syrians leaving their war torn home in Aleppo.
It was written so clearly and with emotion that at times I was crying along. So well written and truly moving.
