This drama/mystery film stars Ansel Elgort and Chloe Grace Moretz, which in a way is the only thing that saves the film. The movie is about an intelligent high school kid and his best friend who he’s in love with, as they try to solve a murder together. This movie has one of those out of touch storylines where it is obvious that no one in the production of this film has either attended public high school, or has been a teenager within at least a decade. In my opinion, the movie just seemed lost a lot of the time and not too sure of what it was trying to convey. I would rate this movie 3/5 stars and recommend it to a teenage audience. @The_Reviewer of the Hamilton Public Library Teen Review Board
What a waste....very appealing actors in an unappealing, boring movie. AVOID.
Decent, but kind of predictable. I think the trailer gave away too much. Also, I'm pretty sure there's no service for pagers anymore - and I know this was set in the present day, because Moretz's character had a smartphone.
Good music, though. But then, I am a Bowie fan.
Well, I did enjoy the Bowie references. Did you count them?
The film shows how we make assumptions about people, their knowledge, values and activities based on race or appearance. Youthful idealism and hopeful beliefs about justice are shredded in the face of an over-burdened criminal justice system.
Chloe Grace Moretz should be more careful about the movies she chooses to be in, or she will forfeit potential stardom. Chloe acted well in Clouds of Sils Maria, third in line with the roles played by Juliette Binoche and Kristen Stewart, but that was a classy movie.
However, November Criminals is very....very...LAME. a teen angst move that tried very hard not to be a teen angst movie, but failed miserably.
Elgort and Moretz have great chemistry. The story involves you.
A good cast wasted on a boring and predictable plot. I kept waiting for things to get exciting....I am still waiting.
This movie was just meh.... acting was okay, script was okay, but it doesn't really make you think or get you excited... haha. If you have nothing else to do.... literally nothing else, then watch this.
