This film was far better than I expected. I grew up during this time, and from the film, I learned a lot that I hadn't known before.

Decent film on LBJ. Woody Harrelson plays LBJ and does a great job, but I will always think of him as Woody from the t.v. series Cheers. Directed by Rob Reiner (Meathead from Archer Bunker t.v. show.) Wondered what attracted him to this story? LBJ was a Texan who was dominant in the Senate and was a bit perplexed when John Kennedy wanted him to run as his Vice President. JFK knew he needed southern support to win. LBJ comes across a bit overwhelmed by the Kennedy glamour; commenting on the Kennedy boys movie star good looks and their desire to improve life in the U.S. by implementing civil rights legislation in Congress. Such legislation, of course, was a major threat to Southern lifestyle. The Kennedy assassination is an undercurrent throughout the film and features in the second half. LBJ constantly butts heads with U.S. Attorney General Robert (Bobby) Kennedy. The film mentions the Vietnam War, but doesn’t go into that era focusing on LBJ’s inauguration and implementation of Kennedy’s civil rights legislation. I thought Harrelson did a great job, but the film gets a bit bogged down in the politics, but overall I found it interesting.

Excellent film. Incredible acting by Woody Harrelson.

A pretty solid biopic but limited to a very short span of time and focused on only one issue. That said, it was quite well done.

Educational and very well done. Woody’s acting is Ocar worthy.

Simply an overrated depiction of LBJ as a coarse individual. Woody Harrelson is not good in this role and it is not worth watching.

Show LBJ as rude, crude, racist, bigot, to everyone's amazement flipped.

One of the strongest films in the last decade. Oscar worthy presentation of one of the most under valued Presidents who successfully championed Civil Rights in these United States, and completed the work of one of the most popular and beloved Presidents, JFK. Hail, Rob Reiner--victorious! MUST SEE.

Great portrait of LBJ. I didn't realize there was so much tension between LBJ and JFK... interesting to see JFK in a different light. It was short, well-done, and overall good pacing.... I am surprised Woody wasn't nominated for an Oscar... excellent performance! must rent!

Interesting movie. Good overall portrait of LBJ. The movie portrayed Bobby Kennedy as pretty much a spoiled brat - I’m sure he was not a saint, bu tI thought this portrayal was probably a little harsh. Also, the movie made it look like JFK was fine with LBJ, which was really not the case. I’m old enough to remember these events in way too much detail!
