Very good book by an excellent local author. Dugoni usually has his books taking place in Seattle so all locations are familiar. He also has several story lines running parallel to totally hold the readers interest. He has become one of my favorite authors.

On the negative side: a prior reader of this book had gotten many pages wet so they were very wrinkled and difficult to read. It is too bad that patrons of the KCLS do not treat these books with better care. If you are a tax payer, these books are basically yours. Please treat them as if they were your own. This is one of several books I have read from KCLS lately that have not been properly treated or cared for.

Unlike his previous novels just couldn't hold my interest. Skipped to end rather than continue trying to make sense of it.

How I love this series! There were two cases involved in this book, and I found myself most interested in the case of the missing young girl, Kavita Mukherjee. She is estranged from her family, due to her desire to avoid an arranged marriage, and wants to attend medical school, instead. There is also a twisty plot about an activist shot down outside her apartment building that includes gangs and some brutality. A bright spot was learning more about Faz's wife, Vera.

A Steep Price is a thumbs up for me and I can't wait to see what happens next for all of the characters!
